Meet Dr Samuel Twumasi-Ankrah, President of Heritage Christian College
Dr Samuel Twumasi-Ankrah is the founding President of Heritage Christian College (HCC), the premier Christian university in Ghana sponsored by Churches of Christ and accredited by the National Accreditation Board.
Before spearheading the establishment of the university college, Sam served 22 years as Minister for the Church of Christ, Nsawam Road, Accra, Ghana and led in planting scores of congregations. In 1999 when he was appointed Principal of National Bible Institute (NBI), Samuel concurrently served as minister of the church while he taught and trained missionaries who are now working in ten different countries in Africa. He describes the establishment of HCC as a church response to a continental need.
Sam is a graduate of Abilene Christian University, Texas; Akrofi-Christaller Institute, Ghana; and Biola University, California. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts in Religion, Master of Arts in Theology & Missions, and a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration & Leadership.Besides speaking at conferences, Dr Twumasi-Ankrah serves on a number of local and international Boards and Councils and is currently the Chairman of the Board of Governors of Hope College as well as Adjunct Professor at the GST, Abilene Christian University, Texas. USA.
Sam and Theresa, his wife, are blessed with their son Kwame, daughter Nshira and Rejoice, a foster daughter. He states his philosophy of life as follows:
“Some live their life purposely to make gains and name;
Others live their life to make contribution;
In the end, some die and become dust; Others, gold dust.
So the greatest use of life is to spend it for something that outlasts life.”
