Mrs. Yvonne Nagai

Mrs. Yvonne Nagai is the Director Legal and Company Secretary of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA). She is a corporate lawyer with vast experience in company and commercial law matters. Having worked as Deputy Head of legal in the Legal and Compliance Department of one of the most reputable Banks in Ghana (Standard Chartered Bank), she has over 5 years’ experience in commercial and corporate practice as well as provision of high level company secretarial services both at Board Meetings, Management Committee meetings and supporting members of these management teams in taking critical decisions that require legal and compliance input according to Ghanaian and international law and practices.

She holds an LLB Hons from the University of North London as well as a Solicitor’s Certificate having completed a Legal Practice Course at the University of Northumbria at Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. She is a member of the Ghana Bar having successfully completed and passed the Ghana Bar Exams in 1999. Yvonne is highly experienced and has demonstrated capability in Administration and Management, having held executive positions in her role as Executive Assistant to the Executive Secretary of the erstwhile National Reconciliation Commission in Ghana which culminated in her role as Acting Executive Secretary to the Commission.

Yvonne has also worked in private practice in a reputable law firm in Ghana with expertise in litigation, including Commercial, Arbitration both local and international, registration of companies and providing legal advice on all requirements of the laws in Ghana regarding Start-Up of Companies. Prior to joining the Ghana Bar, Yvonne worked as a Personal Assistant to the Head of Chemical Engineering at South Bank University and for the Crown Prosecution Service in London.

Yvonne was a Board Member of the Rural Water Project of the Churches of Christ, and is currently Board Chair of Peak Lyceum School in Tema and board member of Hope Christian Academy, an orphanage school in Gomoa Fetteh. She is also a member of the Education Committee of Church of Christ, Ghana.
