The Centre for Professional Studies (CPS) was established as a department of the Heritage Christian College to provide quality professional training for students, workers and corporate organizations seeking such training services. It is an established fact that with the growing competition in industry it is incumbent on managers to follow a well thought-out and effectively coordinated framework or plan which has clear direction and key milestones that will inform progress over time. On the other hand, workmen who lack distinctive skills and competencies and are capable of bringing value to their employers will find themselves out of work.
Corporate bodies are increasingly seeking to protect their investments and reduce the risk of running business. In this regard, the Human Resources of the organization must be treated as a critical success factor capable of helping achieve these objectives. This laudable objective of the organization may not be achieved if corporate entities are unable or unwilling to invest in the training of their workmen.
The key objective of CPS is to provide clients with good quality training at all levels of the organization and also emphasize the importance of acquiring professional qualifications. We also provide a wide range of flexible corporate and consultancy services at reasonable cost. We seek to play a strategic role in the national development effort as a source of generating innovative but effective development models as well as training and capacity building of various actors in the development process.
Legal Mandate of Centre for Professional Studies
CPS was established in 2018 to constitute the professional counterpart of academic programmes in HCC. CPS derives its legal mandate from being a subsidiary and integral part of HCC. In February 2012, HCC received affiliation status from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST). In March 2015, the National Accreditation Board (NAB) of Ghana granted HCC both institutional and programme accreditation certificates.
