Heritage Christian University College has held its 8th Matriculation Ceremony on the theme “Dream it, Achieve it.” In all, 297 students from Ghana, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Ivory Coast, matriculated.
The President of Heritage, Dr. Samuel Twumasi-Ankrah, in his address, stressed the importance of the distinctive education that the university college offers. He said, “Here at Heritage Christian University College, we believe in the transformative power of education to equip us with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to turn our dreams into reality. Through rigorous academic pursuits and holistic development, we empower ourselves to reach new heights of achievement. And thirdly, the support of a nurturing community. Our university stands as a testament to the values of Conviction, Character, Creativity, Compassion, and Community. These core values provide us with a solid foundation upon which to build our dreams. Let us uphold these values in our daily lives, drawing strength from our convictions, fostering character and compassion, nurturing creativity, and embracing the spirit of community.”
The Guest Speaker at the ceremony was Berla Mundi, a renowned media personality, entrepreneur, and founder of B.You by Berla Mundi (a mentorship project). Berla Mundi stirred the hearts and minds of the students, delivering a message centered on the importance of having a plan, resilience, and spiritual guidance in achieving one’s dreams.
Berla Mundi, speaking on the theme “Dream it, Achieve it” challenged the students to trust in God, develop a plan, and be resilient. She said, “Be ready to learn more every day. Push yourself and make some sacrifices along the way. The next day starts at 5 PM for me. I begin preparing for the next day’s show by learning from other media outlets to improve myself. Learn and listen to other people. Dreams may vary with years, don’t rush it. Take your time and build your dreams even if it takes 10 years. You will look back and be happy with your young self. Don’t leave things to chance. It is important to stay connected with God. Everybody around you matters. Learn to respect people around you. Surround yourself with good people. Develop tough skin and don’t run from challenges because they build you.”
