Heritage Christian University College has held its 5th graduation ceremony under the theme, “Securing Africa’s Future: Creativity through Hands-on Entrepreneurship as a Vehicle.”
In all, 66 graduates received various degrees in Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Theology.
The guest speaker was Bryan Brant, Managing Director of Cresa Capital Markets. He drew lessons from Robert Frost’s timeless poem, “The Road Less Travelled.” He emphasized the importance of choosing unconventional paths, taking risks, and embracing creativity as key elements in shaping a successful and impactful future.
Bryan Brant, captivated the audience with insights drawn from Frost’s iconic work, encouraging the graduates to forge their own unique paths in the pursuit of knowledge, personal growth, and entrepreneurial success.
President of Heritage Christian University College, Dr. Samuel Twumasi-Ankrah expressed pride in the accomplishments of the graduating class and emphasized the university’s commitment to nurturing leaders who are not only academically proficient but also equipped with the skills and mindset necessary to contribute meaningfully to the kingdom God and society.
The President announced the completion of a state-of-the-art Learning Commons to support students and faculty for academic excellence and research breakthroughs. The President also announced the launch of a GHc2million Scholarship Endowment Fund to support brilliant but needy students of the university.
A key highlight at the ceremony was the award of GHc100,000 as start-up grant to Davic Farms, winners of this year’s Heritage Start-Up Challenge, to begin their poultry business. Since 2018, Heritage has sponsored 25 student-owned businesses with start-up grants of over GHc500,000. This is to give meaning to the entrepreneurship focus of the university.
Three students sponsored by Heritage to compete in the Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge in USA and emerged among the Top 8 Participating Teams were recognised for their achievement. They are: Rebecca Ocloo, David Bonyamya-Zimbo and Emmanuel Mensah.
