Library patrons are expected to respect the rights of other patrons to use library resources and facilities.
Library patrons are expected to respect and take care of all library materials, equipment and property and must not remove such items from the library without proper check-out or authorization.
Library patrons must not engage in any disruptive activity or other behavior that interferes with the normal use and operations of the library. Such behavior includes, but not limited to verbal abuse, intimidation or harassment.
Library patrons must respect staff members request to relinquish a computer or other equipment for use by another patron.
The library is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal property at all times and users should never leave personal property unattended to.
Individuals who damage or misplace books/materials will be charged three times the current cost of the book/material.
Patrons are expected to respect other users by observing silence in the library. Patrons who refuse to cooperate will be turned out. Failure to comply will be reported to the Registrar.
Eating in any part of the library is strictly prohibited. This includes toffees, fruits, candies, etc. Users who carry water in spill-proof bottles will be allowed to use them in the library.
Library patrons who mutilate or misplace library materials will pay the replacement cost. Additionally, a formal report will be made to the Dean of Students about the offence.
The library is open to only registered members of the Heritage Christian College. It is therefore an offence to bring a non-HCC student into the library without the permission of the Librarian.
You may be required to show your ID card before being admitted into the library.
Stealing of library materials and other items in the library will result in a suspension and the case reported to the University authority for further action.
Personal items should be deposited with the Library Assistant at the service desk and a tag collected as receipt. Materials so deposited are done at the owner’s risk and the library cannot be held responsible for the loss of or damage to any item so deposited. Library staff have authority to inspect any material being taken out of the library.
The use of mobile phones and other noisy electronic gadgets in the library is strictly prohibited. You are required to switch off your mobile phone or put it on silence.
Displaying of posters in the library and its precincts is prohibited except at designated areas with the permission of the librarian.
No seat will be reserved by or for any patron. Any seat so reserved will be cleared by the library staff for use by others.
The laws governing copyright are observed when making request for photocopy.
All books/materials borrowed from the library must be returned by the last day of the semester. Failure to do this may result in examination results being withheld until the material(s) are returned.
