On Thursday June 15 2023, the Programme Advisory Committee of Heritage Christian College held its first meeting at the Accra City Hotel.
This event brought together distinguished panel of both industry and academic experts who reviewed, and enhanced the contents of current undergraduate and graduate programmes of HCC, while establishing vital links to industry.
The HCC Programme Advisory Committee, comprised of five esteemed members who possess extensive experience and remarkable portfolios in academia and industry. They include, Hon. Dr. Augustine Tawiah, MP for Bia West Constituency in the Western region (Chairman of the Committee), Prof. Kwame Adom-Frimpong (Chairman, Public Interest Accountability Committee and former President of ICAG), Mrs. Olivia Akosua Konadu Asomoah, Human Resource Manager at Ghana Communication Network Serv. Ltd., Dr. Abdallah Ali-Nakyea, Director of WTS Ghana, law lecturer and director at Ali-Nakyea & Associates, and Mrs. Maud Ackon Elliott, Lecturer and vice president of Internet society.
Together with the provost, deans, and heads of departments of HCC, the committee with their diverse expertise ensured that HCC’s programmes align with industry standards, and provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them become relevant in the professional landscape, and society.
Specifically, discussions were held on issues like, curriculum updates, the incorporation of emerging technologies, practical training opportunities, and industry’s required skills.
Hon. Dr. Augustine Tawiah, the chairman of the committee, expressed his satisfaction with the productive meeting, and acknowledged the dedication and commitment of the provost, deans, and academic heads and encouraged the continuous improvement of the programme offerings of HCC to ensure that graduates are equipped with employability skills. He commended the HCC management for the good job done in bringing HCC thus far.
